Alan Carter-Davies, Culture Manager
Alan devises and runs cultural projects that help to regenerate the area economically, as well as offering local people the chance to get involved in projects that may otherwise be out of reach to them. Much of Alan’s work also helps to build the city’s reputation.
For example, Alan has helped to launch an independent, not for profit record label, Areafour Recording Industries, which produced a CD featuring local bands and musicians – giving them a platform for their talents whilst promoting Nottingham’s music scene to the rest of the UK and the national music press. Similarly, Alan also helped run a project with the Youth Inclusion team in Radford, offering young people at risk of social exclusion the chance to produce their own magazine, whilst learning new media skills.
Alan comes from a background in culture and media and has grown something of a reputation for his knowledge of new media, in particular Web 2.0.
